When starting pottery in the 1970’s I never imagined that I would be making strange houses from a clay slab in 2015. Each “HALLUCINATED HABITAT” structure starts as just an idea of the footprint of the piece. Not much thought goes into the project beyond that stage, as they seem to grow on their own. My goal is to present a structure that is “Possible, not Probable” with enough detail in the work to make it interesting. I also imagine some type of small person living in them. So, there needs to be doors, windows and if needed, stairs and ladders. It gives me joy to see that other folks have a touch of whimsy when they appreciate my efforts.
