RS Yorke

Digital Manipulation | Fish Lake WA
After working in ceramics, silk screen, collage, and mixed media as a young man, and having worked with set design and lighting, RS Yorke subsequently worked as an Electrician from the late seventies until 1999 when he became disabled and began creating art full time on the computer. In 2004, he produced a "Virtual Exhibit" of his work on public access TV locally in Spokane.
Departing from collage he began working with alterations of photography and began to paint landscapes using a desktop mouse. Subjects involve dream imagery and sometimes reflect the early influences of Dali and Magritte. To be able to render the computer images into print form, what worked best was having the images printed high gloss on a pearlescent metallic paper which makes the imagery glow just as it's seen on the computer screen. Other images lend themselves to be printed on canvas.
