Juried Art Show Criteria....
"OUT of the Box" was a call to all community artists ~ it was a project where the art must incorporate an actual box, a "box" theme, or a box displaying the art piece.
Submissions for this juried art event were open to all local and regional artists in WA & ID.
The show took place at our gallery in Spokane, with a special opening held on Friday night September 18th and Saturday September 19th.
Below is an example of what was expected:
Criteria...
1) All mediums will be considered, including jewelry entries.
2) The size of the box can be anything from the size of a ring box to the size of the average microwave oven.
3) This is a JURIED event!
4) JURY FEE: $10 per entry (multiple entries are OK!)
5) Jury fee is nonrefundable
6) Art must be delivered to the Moon no later than September 1st, 2015 @ 5:00 PM for the jurying process.
7) All entries need to be submitted with an entry form which must be complete or cannot be considered in the jury process. The form is available [HERE] as a Word doc download.
Art events are always more successful when collectors are invited, so we encourage you send out a notice about the show to your own mailing list; or if you prefer, you can include on the form some of your own email contacts and we will send them a special invitation to the show.
8) The $10 jury fee (per submission) must accompany your entry form and is non-refundable.
9) Current Moon Member Artists are"WAIVED the JURY FEE" (this is just one of the benefits of being a Moon Member!)
10) Artwork will be chosen on the following criteria:
- WORKMANSHIP & SUSTAINABILITY
- ORIGINALITY
- THEME
11) ALL accepted art must be available for RESALE.
12) Price of artwork is determined by the submitting artist.
13) Commission will be paid to the Moon as follows:
* Existing Moon Member Artists are 35% (these are artists that work in the gallery monthly)
* All other artist are considered CONSIGNMENT ARTISTS and pay 45% commission of all final sales (no exceptions). Sales tax will be paid by Manic Moon & More.
14) All accepted artwork will be on display until 5pm on Saturday October 10th, 2015.
15) Unsold art must be retrieved no later than Thursday October 15, 2015 at 4pm. If you are unable to pick up your art by this deadline you must contact us in advance to make alternative arrangements!
16) Sales revenue will be issued to artists in the form of a business check and will be mailed to the artist on or before October 20th, 2015.
