Papier Mache for Beginners

Saturday, 7 February, 1 - 4pm

This papier-mâché classes is designed to teach basic techniques like strip, and pulp methods, as well as mixed media embellishments to guide beginners through building, layering, and finishing sculptures with various materials. This course is ideal for those seeking a creative, three -dimensional, hands-on, and relaxing art experience.  Your instructor  is a retired art teacher and professional fiber artist, painter, and illustrator. She regularly exhibits and teaches at the New Moon Art Gallery.
All materials will be supplied. Paper mache, while somewhat messy, is easily washed out of any clothing; however, it is recommended to wear an apron during this class. In the introductory session, participants will design whimsical, bird-inspired figures. The objective is to encourage creativity while developing skills in both strip and pulp application techniques.
