Kimekomi with Jenni Barry
Saturday, 25 April, 11:00-3:00pm
$55
Kimekomi classes include the basics of this unique art, including beginning design, choice of fabric, techniques of cutting the grooves, and cutting and tucking the fabric to fit smoothly. Materials and tools are provided, including beginner friendly patterns, 8in square foam-board, scissors, knives, and fabric.
I encourage students to bring favorite fabric, or favorite sewing scissors if they desire, but it is not necessary. Students should bring snacks and water.
New Kimekomi artists enjoy the meditative nature of this art, and the friendly conversations that arise in class.

Papier Mache for Beginners
Instructor Diane Rowan Garmire
Saturday, 23 May, 1 - 4pm
This papier-mâché classes is designed to teach basic techniques like strip, and pulp methods, as well as mixed media embellishments to guide beginners through building, layering, and finishing sculptures with various materials. This course is ideal for those seeking a creative, three -dimensional, hands-on, and relaxing art experience. Your instructor is a retired art teacher and professional fiber artist, painter, and illustrator. She regularly exhibits and teaches at the New Moon Art Gallery.
All materials will be supplied. Paper mache, while somewhat messy, is easily washed out of any clothing; however, it is recommended to wear an apron during this class. In the introductory session, participants will design whimsical, bird-inspired figures. The objective is to encourage creativity while developing skills in both strip and pulp application techniques.
Only 6 spaces available. Register before January 24, 2026.
