Jenni Barry, Kimekomi Class
Saturday, October 17th
12-4 pm , $55.00
Kimekomi classes cover the basics of this unique art, including basic design, fabric selection, techniques for cutting the grooves, and cutting and tucking the fabric
to fit smoothly. Materials and tools are provided, including beginner-friendly patterns, 8in square foam board, scissors, knives, and fabric.
I encourage students to bring their favorite fabric or,
if they prefer, their favorite sewing scissors, but it is not necessary. Students should bring snacks and water.
New Kimekomi artists enjoy the meditative nature of
this art and the friendly conversations that arise in class.

AND Saturday, October 10th 12:30-2:30
$60.00
This paper-mache workshop is designed to teach basic techniques, such as the strip and pulp methods, as well as mixed-media embellishments, to guide beginners through building, layering, and finishing vessels using various materials. This workshop is ideal for those seeking a creative, three -dimensional, hands-on, and relaxing art experience. All materials will be supplied. Paper-mache, while somewhat messy, is easily washed out of clothing; however, it is recommended to wear an apron during this class. Students will design vessels using a slump technique and molds. The objective is to encourage creativity while developing skills in both strip and pulp application techniques.
