I am tactile by nature. From the time I was a young child, I was fascinated with everything textile. That fascination took form with my love of creating objects of adornment. I play with a diversity of techniques and enjoy being spontaneous and experimental in my process.
Michele Mokrey is a mixed media textile and fiber artist. She creates one-of-a-kind wearable art accessories, wall hangings and vessels with a focus on the fundamental principles of eco-design. Through a diversity of techniques like felting, embroidery, crochet, collage, weaving, fabric manipulation and embellishment techniques, Michele creates works that carry a history and bring a solid relationship between raw materials and artistic expression.
